The match, held on Thursday at the Accra Sports Stadium, saw Ghana put in a strong performance but ultimately fail to break through Sudan’s defense.

The 0-0 result places the Black Stars in third position in Group F, putting pressure on the four-time AFCON champions.

Speaking to the media after the game, Addo, 45, expressed optimism, emphasizing that qualification is still within their control despite the early challenges.

“It is still in our own hands. we win our next games and we will qualify,” the former Borussia Dortmund assistant coach said. “We will do it,” he assured.

Ghana is set to face Sudan again in the return leg on Monday, October 14, at the Martyrs of February Stadium, with kick-off at 13:00 GMT.

Following that, the Black Stars will take on Angola away and then host Niger in their final Group F matches.
