The Labour leader was released on bail at about 11pm on Monday.
Ajaero was on his way to a Trade Union Congress (TUC) event in the UK when he was arrested on Monday morning.
He was released later that night but had his passport seized.
According to Ajaero, he was questioned over alleged terrorism financing involving a British national, Andrew Wynne.
He added that the police officers also grilled him over the #EndBadGovernance nationwide protests that took place in August.
The police have also summoned Ajaero and NLC’s Secretary-General, Emmanuel Ugboaja, for further questioning later in the month.
