The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the November 8, 2025, Anambra election, Jude Ezenwafor, will be squaring up against the incumbent governor, Charles Soludo, of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Ezenwafor, who the PDP officially submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on May 13, 2025, will run alongside his running mate, Okeke Chukwudi, against candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Labour Party (LP), African Democratic Congress (ADC) and others.
Naija News understands that the Abuja-based real estate developer was the sole aspirant in the PDP primary held on April 8, 2025, at the Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka.
He was unanimously endorsed by 853 delegates from the party’s 21 local government chapters, making him the official flag bearer.
Ezenwafor, who purchased the party’s ₦40 million nomination form, was the only contender cleared to contest the PDP primary.

Ezenwafor’s political career was first tied to APGA, the ruling party in Anambra, before he defected to the PDP.
In the 2021 Anambra Governorship Election, he contested as APGA’s candidate before switching allegiance.
He also served for 18 months as Consul on Trade and Investment to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and founded the Caribbean Communities Business Roundtable in Nigeria. Additionally, he worked as a consultant for the Caribbean on trade investments, second citizenship, and residency solutions.
With APGA maintaining dominance in Anambra politics for over a decade and Soludo seeking re-election, Ezenwafor faces a steep battle.
