The Delta State Police Command has revealed the shocking operations of an internet fraud academy that lured over 100 teenagers under the guise of teaching Bitcoin and forex trading.
According to the command’s Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, the teenagers were tricked into joining what they believed was a training center for cryptocurrency and forex trading.
However, upon arrival, they discovered it was a notorious cybercrime training camp known as “Hustling Kingdom.” Soldiers from the Nigerian Army’s 3rd Battalion stormed the estate in Warri, arresting 123 suspects, mostly teenagers.
The arrest was triggered after one of the teens managed to contact his family through a laptop provided by the fraudsters.
Investigations revealed the academy operators deceived their victims by flaunting fake wealth on social media, enticing them to join the criminal network.
The teenagers were later subjected to physical abuse and exploitation at the fraud school.
