President Bola Tinubu’s plans to reshuffle his cabinet have been met with skepticism from Buba Galadima, a chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP)......See Full Story>>.....See Full Story>>
Galadima downplayed the move, emphasizing that Nigerians have more pressing concerns.
“The planned cabinet reshuffle has nothing to do with me or any Nigerian,” Galadima stated on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday night. “What’s important is addressing the harsh living conditions, and the buck stops with President Tinubu. No amount of reshuffling can make a difference if it’s just ‘job for the boys’.”
This comes after the presidency confirmed the imminent cabinet reshuffle, with Special Adviser Bayo Onanuga saying, “The President has expressed his desire to reshuffle his cabinet and will do it.” However, Onanuga failed to provide a timeline.
Galadima argued that Tinubu should be held accountable for his ministers’ performances. “Anybody who calls himself president or governor is responsible for their cabinet’s performance,” he said.
The NNPP stalwart also accused Tinubu’s appointees of prioritizing personal gain over service delivery. “He should be told that some of his appointees are more interested in their pockets than service delivery.”
Galadima expressed disappointment in Tinubu’s performance, saying, “I expected him to do better than this; and to hit the ground running.”
He urged the president to address the country’s foreign exchange crisis, which has severely impacted the naira’s value.
