Speaking in Calabar with journalists, Bishop Quintin-Osuogim said Wike, who is now Minister of Federal Capital Territory, cannot win the fight against Fubara, adding that he is paying the Ijaws who made him governor in bad coin.
He said no one man is a storehouse of political power, because all powers in heaven and on earth belong to God alone.
He said, “I implore you to immediately bury the hatchet and embrace peace, because you can’t win this fight. Stop bringing yourself to the slaughtering table of ridicule.”
Urging all to live peacefully to foster understanding and cooperation among all ethnic groups in the State, he disclosed that majority of the Ijaw people are massively behind Fubara, their son.
He noted that without the Ijaws Wike could not have been anywhere near governorship, adding that destiny has heavily played on Fubara to govern the state.
“Fubara is an Ijaw man. His ascension to political power is an act of predestination, which no man can truncate. It is a reward of the refreshing good gesture of the Ijaws towards you and other highly placed politicians who are not of the Ijaws extraction in the past.
“The emergence of Governor Fubara is a reward for the political power that was given to you by the Ijaws to become Governor in 2015.
Advising Wike to be humble, the cleric said, “Without the Ijaws you won’t be anywhere near governorship. You would not have been known anywhere in the state, Nigeria and in the world.”
According to the man of God, Wike wouldn’t have become as powerful as he claims to be today, without Fubara and other Ijaws.
