BREAKING: Suspected Ritualist, Lekan Akinyemi Arrested With Human Head In Abeokuta

The investigation was sparked when Nojeem Balogun, a resident near the Iyana Cele Car Wash in Abeokuta, reported unusual activity at the grave of his late father. On June 23, 2024, around 8:00 AM, one of Balogun’s siblings notified him about suspicious happenings at Isale Itoko, where their father’s grave is located.

Upon inspecting the site, Balogun discovered that the head of his father’s corpse had been exhumed by an unidentified individual or group. Following this shocking revelation, he initiated further inquiries that ultimately led to the identification of Akinyemi as the primary suspect.

Akinyemi was caught in the act while attempting to dig up the grave and sever the head. The case was subsequently handed over to the Anti-Robbery unit for detailed investigation before being transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further proceedings.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover the motives behind this disturbing act and to ascertain if any accomplices were involved. The community remains shaken by the incident, raising concerns about safety and security in the area.
