AFCON 2025: Anambra Security Outfit Rescues Six Kidnapped Reporters

The incident happened at Iseke, Ihiala local government area of the state. The community is one of the nine taken over by secessionist group for some time now

Confirming the rescue of the sports reporters, Anambra state Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, said the search  for the remaining kidnapped victims was still ongoing.“Meanwhile, operations are still ongoing for the possible rescue of the other members. Further development shall be communicated, please, ” he said.

The abduction reportedly occurred on Wednesday while the journalists were en route to Uyo through Iseke, near the Ihiala area of Anambra State.

Reports indicate that approximately 11 journalists were traveling in a bus when they were intercepted by armed assailants.
