Dokubo claims to have invested substantial personal resources to help Tinubu secure the presidency, expecting that the administration would align with his vision for Nigeria.
Previously, Dokubo had publicly vouched for Tinubu, urging Nigerians to hold him accountable if Tinubu’s administration fell short.
Now, however, he openly expresses discontent with the President’s actions in office, signaling a shift from his initial stance.
“The Tinubu I know now isn’t the Tinubu I used to know,” Dokubo said, referencing a shift in their relationship and suggesting that his expectations of the administration’s support have not been met.
He went on to mention plans to form alliances with Northern leaders, signaling a potential pivot in his political alliances.
“I will work and form an alliance with the North. President Tinubu betrayed me after I spent all my money and emptied my bank account campaigning for him. The Tinubu I know now isn’t the Tinubu I used to know”
The ex-Niger Delta militant leader, Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, had once said that though he has a long-standing relationship with President Bola Tinubu he is not after a federal appointment.
