Edo Community Invokes Ayelala, Sango Deities To Curse Police Station Burglars

The police station, built through communal efforts, had not yet been commissioned for use when the incident occurred.

The unidentified burglars reportedly made off with furniture, electrical cables, and fittings from the building.

The Ayelala and Sango priests performed rituals, invoked curses, and called upon God and the ancestors to punish the perpetrators.

Following this, they paraded the village, slaughtering animals at strategic locations as part of the rites.

One elder, Pa. Sunday Iyoha, condemned the vandalism of the police station, which was intended to address local insecurity.

“As we were preparing to inaugurate the project, criminals invaded the police station and vandalized equipment in the building, including electrical cables,” he lamented.
