A close aide to Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola has identified those he claims “will learn the hard way” in the race to determine the next governor of Ogun State......See Full Story>>.....See Full Story>>
Kayode Odunaro, the media adviser to the senator representing Ogun West, made the disclosure on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.
“Some upstart politicians, opportunist wannabes and serial spoilers will learn the hard way. The GAME CHANGER is finally on the field of play, playing from home ground… We wait as the Good People of Ogun State decide soon,” Odunaro posted on social media.
Odunaro has been a long-running media aide to the senator, who is a leading aspirant in the unfolding process to determine the successor to Governor Dapo Abiodun.
Senator Adeola, famously known as Yayi, is reported to be facing strong pushback against his gubernatorial ambition from unexpected quarters.
There are increasing claims that his supposed chief backer has switched support to a serial gubernatorial candidate identified as the beneficiary of the situation.
The serial contender and Yayi are from the same senatorial district, highlighting the usual “divisions” that have prevented the area—which is a low voter region—from producing a governor since the state was created in 1976.
This development reportedly influenced Yayi’s decision to establish a claim of origin in Ogun Central, a larger voting region giving him the leverage to secure stronger alliances.
Interestingly, there are also emerging claims that a passionate loyalist of the supposed chief backer from this new area is now making a bid to become the next governor of Ogun State.
Odunaro’s post on Wednesday, with singer Flavour’s famous song “Game Changer (DIKE)” as background, comes amid this development.
Here is what the media aide wrote in full: “DIKE + OKURIN META COMBO: OGUN ’27 on my mind. For those that are deep and understand Igbo and Yoruba, the message is clear in relation to Ogun 2027. Some upstart politicians, opportunist wannabes and serial spoilers will learn the hard way. The GAME CHANGER is finally on the field of play, playing from home ground… We wait as the Good People of Ogun State decide soon… if you know, you know… If not, … hmmmm you will learn a hard lesson in FAILURE.”
