This ruling upholds an earlier judgment from the National Industrial Court, which recognized Tajudeen Baruwa as the legitimate leader of the union.

Last week, the Southwest Zone of the NURTW elected MC Oluomo during the Quadrennial Delegate Conference in Osogbo, Osun State.

Following the election, he took office at the union’s headquarters in Abuja.

However, court documents released on Friday reveal that the appellate court’s panel of three judges rejected the appeal filed by MC Oluomo’s faction.

The decision awarded a fine of ₦100,000 against the appellants and confirmed Baruwa’s re-election.

The judgment solidifies Baruwa’s position as the NURTW president, countering recent moves to replace him.

The judgement reads,

“This is an appeal against the judgment/decision of the National Industrial Court Sitting in Abuja, in Suit No. NICN/ABJ/263/2023 delivered on the 11th March, 2024 by Justice O. O.
