The grouo made the call when the President of Abia State indigenes in Anambra State, Comrade Damian Ogudike, and the President of Abia Ministers’ Forum in Anambra State, Bishop (Dr.) Innocent Chidi, addressed newsmen during their end of the year party held at Divine Hotel, Housing Estate, Fegge, Onitsha.

Bishop Chidi said it has become imperative that Governor Otti should lead the campaign for the release of Nnamdi Kanu because he is Kanu’s Governor.

He said the Governor should reach out to other South East Governors to join him in the struggle to ensure that Kanu is brought out of the detention.

He lauded Governor Otti for massive infrastructural work taking place in the State since he took over the mantle of leadership.

The Bishop who had earlier in his exhortation prayed that the members would finish strong this year and 2025 called for the prompt payment of civil servants’ wages, pension and gratuities as well as steady improvement of quality of education in the State.

In his contribution, Chief Obiagwu Omenuko, businessman, noted that Kanu did not cause the insecurity in the South East as some mischief makers would want people to believe but the Governors and politicians who used their touts to create insecurity in the country and South East in particular.

Comrade Ogudike said Governor Otti has been doing well in the area of insecurity in the State, noting that Nigeria security especially intelligence gathering has totally collapsed.

He advised the Governor to focus in securing Abia State, lauding the him for his bold step to dismantle terrorist network in the State where he pulled down a market and banned people from living inside it.

In doing that, said Ogudike, the Governor showed he had gut and courage, declaring their total support for Otti and warned that anybody fighting him would incure their wrath.

The rights activist equally called on the Governor to create worhers’ friendly policies to avoid clash with the workers.

He also called on the Governor to expedite work on Abia Governor’s lodge, lamenting that since the creation of the state the past Governors have been living in rented apartment.

Even Otti himself, said Ogudike , is currently operating from his own house, saying that the current Governor’s lodge under construction should be completed within one year for him to move in.

He stated that Abia cannot be ruled from private house or rented accomodation again.

Earlier the group had told journalists their struggle since 2019 to ethrone a credible Government in Abia State after several years of misrule by People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governors, saying that the emergence of Otti was as a result of collective struggle and resolve of Abia people to have good governance which he said has spiritual significance.
