The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has told the Rt. Honourable Tajudeen Abass, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, to be wary of the quality of the legislators who will be saddled with the responsibility of representing him at political events as the one he sent to the Ede Day last weekend has proven to be a misfit and an emissary of rift......Read The Full Article>>.....Read The Full Article>>
The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream), Hon Alhassan Ado-Doguwa representing Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency of Kano State, under the APC, was at the Ede Day where he proved to be an unworthy representative of his principal by spinning an uncomplimentary statement in the disfavour of the state chapter of the APC.
The agent provocateur from Kano State who was running his mouth for reasons which could only be explained by him was quoted to have stated among other things that: *”For the few hours we have been around in this state especially in the state capital, Osogbo, and coming to Ede Kingdom, we have seen a lot of developmental projects and developmental programmes starting from infrastructure, human resources development”.*
Doguwa was also quoted to have opened his mouth and said: *”With the kind of political strength I have seen here, with the dexterity and so much doggedness of yourself (referring to Governor Ademola Adeleke) in your humble personality, it appears to me that Osun is like a no go area”.*
It was a pity that a political office holder of the rank of the membership of the House of Representatives could brazenly engage in the act of unjustifiably running down his party for whatever reason, moreso, when it was apparent that he did not have sufficient knowledge and information of the subject he was appraising.
Did it not occur to the loquacious federal lawmaker that he was at the Ede Day event as an agent of his principal and that it was out of tune for him to have engaged in the act of talking before thinking to avoid getting himself and his principal into trouble just the way he had allowed himself to be misled in Osun State during the weekend?
We would like to demand from the federal legislator if it is part of the statutory functions of the integral part of the national assembly to demarket a party through which he realized his ambition as a privileged member of the House of Representatives where he is currently serving as the chairman of the House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream)?
It is worthwhile for the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the national leadership of the APC to investigate Doguwa over this obnoxious, reckless, unguarded and repugnant remark with the resultant effect of needlessly lowering the estimation of our formidable party in the eyes of the Osun State electorate who are anxiously banking on our rescue mission from the visibly and verifiably mis-governance of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
It was uncharitable, ill-informed and compassionless of Doguwa, an acclaimed chieftain of the APC in Kano State, to have been railroaded into believing, hook, line and sinker that the level of the developmental stride he witnessed in Ede, the home town of Governor Adeleke, where the government has unusually and selfishly concentrated its so-called developmental projects to the detriment of other numerous towns in the state, was enough yardstick to measure the overall development of the entire state.
We want to make it abundantly clear that as much as we, as a party, cannot choose Doguwa’s friends for him, we would also not hesitate to resist any attempt by any injudicious politician to use our party to negatively service such friendship by gratuitously demarketing our party which is doing everything constitutionally allowed to occupy the seat of power in Bola Ige House, Abere, in 2026.
What can get the loquacious Kano federal lawmaker out of this political quagmire is to purge himself of the odious and distasteful remark on the Osun State APC which automatically and glaringly qualifies for an anti-party activity or come out with a statement that he was quoted out of context by the PDP media foot soldiers who have been feasting on the statement since it was pushed to the public domain with the sole aim of deriding the political party which interest he is ideally duty-bound to protect come rain or shine.
