The 27-year-old forward has enjoyed a stellar year during which he fired a historic hat-trick for Atalanta to win the UEFA Europa League and his goals also helped the Super Eagles reach the final of the 2023 AFCON.

What are his chances of being crowned CAF Player of the Year for 2024?

“Let’s hope and see…” a modest Ademola Lookman told Sporty TV.

“I have been able to be in an environment like this that pushes and drives me and obviously my own drives and beliefs match well with that of the club Atalanta.

“I have been able to do that both on club and country front in terms of the AFCON.

“So for me, it’s just keep going, man.

“There’s so much to achieve, so much more to look forward and to not let up, just keep going, keep working hard, keep achieving, good things will come.

“God willing, greatness is on the horizon.”

The 2024 CAF Player of the Year will be crowned on Monday night in Marrakech, Morocco.

Ademola Lookman will battle Achraf Hakimi (Morocco), Simon Adingra (Cote d’Ivoire), Ronwen Williams (South Africa) and Serhou Guirassy (Guinea) to replace fellow Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen as Africa’s No 1 star.
