The sobbing woman in the widely shared video added, “This is where it happened,” while addressing the purported crime scene, a shanties under a Glo mast head at Cele 1 in Ibeju-Lekki.
Here, the guard murdered my sister and stole her money and PoS terminal. John from Jos, Plateau State, is his name.
She explained that the body of her slain sister was moved to a mortuary in Ibeju-Lekki by the police without informing her family and that they searched for her for two days before they discovered that she had been killed and her corpse taken to the mortuary in Epe area of the state.
The video clip seen by Sunday Vanguard shows the bereaved lady and a relation, weeping profusely and pleading with the Chairman of Glo Unlimited, Chief Mike Adenuga, to also come to their aid, stressing that their grandmother is in the morgue and that they don’t know how to inform her about Chinyere’s death.
“I am calling on Mike Adenuga to come to our aid. I don’t have anybody. My grandmother is in the mortuary. I don’t know how to tell my mother that Chinyere has been killed in Lagos”, she said, sobbing.
It was further gathered that an association, identified as Ezza Union, had, penultimate Friday, responded to Oluchi’s call for justice.
A statement by the group’s Publicity Secretary, Comrade Awah, titled, ‘Murder of Miss Esther Usulor: Search for justice begins’, indicated that executive members of the association, including its two Vice Presidents, Chief John Izekwe and Ambassador Simon Itumo, visited the Police Area Command, Ajah, Lagos in respect of the matter which was quickly transferred to the State Criminal Department, CID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos.
“On getting to Yaba where we met with the Investigating Police Officer, IPO, we all were shocked to the marrow when we sighted a statement already written that Esther committed suicide”, one of those at the meeting said.
He added that the executives was able to establish a case of murder against the fleeing suspect and expressed optimism that he would soon be arrested.
Efforts to speak to police authorities on the matter did not succeed as at press time.
