BREAKING: Malaysia, Brazil Top Destinations As Nigeria’s Exports Hit $2.7bn In H1’24

Ayeni, who provided the breakdown at a meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, stated that 211 products were exported during the time.

She stated that cocoa, beans, urea, and sesame were the most popular products sent during the period under consideration.

Ayeni ranks Malaysia, the Netherlands, and Brazil as Nigeria’s top three export destinations.

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported that Nigeria’s agricultural exports to other countries increased by 123% over the fourth quarter of 2023 (₦463.97 billion) and 270 percent over the first quarter of 2023 (₦279.64 billion).

The NBS reports that agricultural products were primarily shipped to Asia, valued at ₦572 billion, followed by Europe at ₦366 billion.

Sesamum seeds, superior grade cocoa beans, and standard quality cocoa beans were the top agricultural exports, valued at ₦247.75 billion, ₦231 billion, and ₦140 billion, respectively, according to the study.
