Obiora Obeagu, in his congratulatory message described Osigwe as an age-long classmate, partner, brother and friend,
He noted that the fact that Osigwe won the coveted bar seat in a landslide victory speaks volumes about his personality, acceptability, character, competence and capacity to lead the Bar at this trying time.
He said: “Mazi Osigwe is a quintessential bar man, a detribalized Nigerian and a man of the people with great vision and immense leadership qualities that will impact both the legal profession and our country positively.”
Obeagu further stated that Osigwe’s ascendancy to the NBA Presidency did not come as a surprise to him and many others as it was an event foretold and an expectation long-awaited.
He revealed that, “Osigwe rose through the ranks by dint of hard work, unwavering determination to lead and passion to make a difference in the Nigerian Bar Association and our country, Nigeria. He comes with great experience as former Chairman of our Unity Bar, Abuja and past General-Secretary of the NBA, among others, with outstanding achievements.
“Congratulations Afam Osigwe. You are en erudite lawyer, a bridge builder and a phenomenal achiever. We take pride in your towering heights and years of accomplishments”, Obeagu stated.
“As you hit the ground running to deliver on your manifesto, I am confident that you will keep faith with your campaign promises and I have no doubt, at all, that you will succeed in your quest to run an inclusive Bar that will help address the challenges facing the legal profession, the judiciary and our nation,” he concluded.
