Manager Pep Guardiola has challenged his team to accept their reality and break the slump. “We are a bit fragile right now, that is obvious,” Guardiola said. “We struggled to score goals and after, when they arrived, they scored.”

City’s defeat was a shocking turn of events, especially considering their dominant form in recent years. The team’s 52-match unbeaten home streak in all competitions came to an end, and Guardiola acknowledged that his team is struggling to cope with the pressure.

“When you lose three games in a row in the Premier League, that situation is there,” Guardiola said. “Many things are going to happen. We have to break the results because the victories help us to be more positive and confident.”

Guardiola also brushed aside any title talk after this latest loss. “I would say when you lose three games in a row, it is the most wrong thing to say that you will be champions,” he said.

City’s next match is against Feyenoord in the Champions League on Tuesday, followed by a trip to table-topping Liverpool next Sunday. Guardiola believes that improvements will come as players return, but for now, the team must focus on breaking their slump.

“We have to do everything to change, especially for the next one,” Guardiola said. “But the exceptionality we lived in eight years is not eternal. Sometimes you drop a little bit.”
