The vehicles were distributed to the benefiting government organizations by the governor on Friday at the State Government House in Birnin Kebbi.

Delivering the vehicles, the governor said the gesture was in fulfilment of his campaign promises to the people of the state.

He said: “We always keep to our words, we don’t promise something that we can’t fulfil. This applies to all our projects, everything we said, we have done remarkably.”

The brand new ultramodern ambulances were distributed to the Argungu General Hospital, Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital and Martha Bamaiyi General Hospital in Zuru.

Others included the Kebbi State University Teaching Hospital, Kalgo and the General Hospitals in Bunza, Yauri and Jega LGAs.

Others who benefitted from the governor’s gesture included the Government House Press Crew, the Ministries of Women Affairs and Education who received brand new operational vehicles, including the College of Nursing Sciences and Midwifery, Birnin Kebbi.

As contained in a statement by Yahaya Sarki, the governor’s spokesperson, Chairman of the State Board of Internal Revenue Service received a new Hilux vehicle.

The Governor also affirmed commitment to prudent management of resources of the state with financial discipline and transparency.

He equally directed the beneficiaries to ensure judicious use of the vehicles, ordering that the ambulances must always be kept at the premises of the hospitals.

He said: “You must not have more than one driver to a vehicle so that you will know who to hold responsible when something happens.”
