Speaking on NFF TV, Gusau assured fans that the federation is committed to finding a long-term solution for the team’s coaching position.
In the meantime, Justin Madugu has been appointed as interim coach, with the federation working to strengthen the team’s competitiveness ahead of upcoming fixtures.
“We have started the process to get a substantive coach for the Super Falcons, but before that, we are planning to use the FIFA window before us in October to see how we can engage the team to make them more competitive.”
Randy Waldrum, in September, announced that he he has left his Super Falcons role.
The American had been in charge since 2021, guiding the team to several tournaments including the WAFCON, FIFA Women’s World Cup and the Olympic Games.
Nigeria will soon commence the qualifiers for next year’s Cup of Nations, but it’s very likely Justin Madugu will be incharge of the team.
