The medical outreach covers surgeries of many constituents in various health facilities and clearing hospital bills of many, amounting to over fifty – eight million naira.

The member representing Ohaozara, Onicha and Ivo local government areas of Ebonyi state in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Kama Nkemkamma made this known in a town hall meeting he organized to engage his constituents on their challenges and to chart the way forward.

“From the onset, we made clear and explicit commitment to hold annual Town Hall meeting to enthrone Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation.

,”Town Hall meeting presents an unfiltered platform to feel the people’s pulse. It is an important feature of democratic culture that nurtures sense of inclusion and banish feelings of alienations “, he stated.

Accounting for his stewardship, Nkemkamma said that on infrastructural development, he has embarked on supply and installation of 50 Nos solar street light in each of the 34 wards in Ohanivo amounting to 1,700 and construction of 2.3km Nkwo Ugwulangwu Ohafia to Onuenyim road in Ugwulangwu community.

In the area of water supply, he said that he has constructed 12 hand pump boreholes in the 11 communities of the constituency and 13 Nos solar powered boreholes across 10 communities including ongoing supply and installation of 300kva transformers to Oshiri, Ishiagu and Ugwulangwu communities.

The lawmaker pointed out that though his primary duty focused on law making that will benefit his constituency any Nigeria, he cannot shy away from other areas needing his interventions to improve the living conditions of and infrastructural needs of his people.

He disclosed that he believes that the cornerstone of their social contact with the people he represents is the pledge to always be accountable and foster dialogue with the electorates in a way that give meaning to democratic participation ideal.

Nkemkamma listed other areas he has touched to include award of N200, 000 to 44 OHANIVO law students, cash award of N500,000 to two first class law school graduates, off – setting the school fees of over 100 students and production of 12,000 exercise books of 60 and 80 leaves for onward distribution to schools in OHANIVO.

Other areas of achievement according to him are sustaining 76 Aides under his payroll of N5,000 monthly who man his constituency office in the communities, discovery and developing young talents across the constituency and a multi million naira project to promote their rich cultural heritage.

He said, “I want to assure you that my commitment to our constituency remains unwaivering and I am committed to working tirelessly in collaboration with other leaders to address these issues, both within our constituency and at the national level.

“We will continue to prioritize transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness in our decision making process. We will continue to engage stakeholders, advocate for policies and laws that benefit us all”.

The highlight of the occasion was two persons from each of the ten communities coming to the stage to state their challenges to enable the lawmaker articulate them and ensure that they are captured in the 2025 budget.
