Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has announced the approval of the construction of the Tureta-Gidan Kare road as part of efforts to combat banditry in the Tureta Local Government Area and surrounding villages. “As a government, we are committed to providing all that is necessary to make our local communities safe and free from any security challenges. “Rest assured, we will spend our last kobo to guarantee the safety of the lives and property of our people. “We are deeply concerned by the heinous acts of banditry in our dear state, and we are taking further measures to end the menace, Insha Allah,” he vowed.

The governor called for more support and fervent prayers from the locals to achieve the set target.

Aliyu also promised to construct feeder roads, implement water projects, renovate the Jumuat Mosque, and install 250 solar-powered streetlights in the area.

The governor paid similar visits to Dange Shuni, Bodinga, and Silame Local Government Areas.

During these visits, Aliyu announced the commencement of various projects, including feeder roads, the installation of solar-powered streetlights, and waterworks, and the renovation of Jumuat Mosques and health facilities.
