According to the Emir, these children, many of whom were students, were held under harsh conditions that endangered their lives until Tinubu ordered their immediate release.

The Emir voiced his concern that many of these children were not even involved in the protests, noting that they were simply on their way to school or in public areas when arrested.

Speaking at the Muhammadu Buhari Specialist Hospital in Kano, where the freed minors were being cared for, Emir Sanusi said, “We really appreciate and thank President Tinubu who saved the lives of these Boys.

“It is disheartening that the boys were students going to schools and were not even there on the day of the protests when they were picked while the real organizers and sponsors of the actions were left moving freely both in Kano and Abuja.

“We would like to see people who are behind any negative actions been arrested henceforth not innocent children who were picked variously not from one angle of Kano.

“It is sad that they received this treatment despite the fact that they were picked up from the streets and not around the protest venues. Photos of the real culprit were taken but today they are moving freely.”

The Emir also commended both the Federal Government and the Kano State Government for their intervention, stating that it prevented further unrest that could have fueled division across the country.

Sanusi called upon the Federal Government to shift focus to identifying and holding accountable the real instigators of such movements rather than targeting minors caught up unintentionally.
