Oshiomhole, who himself was the governor of Edo State, responded by telling the Senate President that Obaseki was elected by the people, adding that he only helped him to become Governor.
“The man you brought in as Governor (Obaseki) has turned against you and against democracy,” Akpabio told Oshiomhole on the floor of the Senate on Thursday.
In response, Oshiomhole said, “Just for the record, I didn’t bring him in; he was elected, but I supported him, just the way you supported Governor Udom.”
Recall that Oshiomhole once called Obaseki the “brain and creativity” behind his administration in Edo State during their political honey moon and further anointed him as his successor.
Obaseki succeed him 2016, while Oshiomhole became the national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
However, shortly after Obaseki took over office, their political marriage began to unravel.
