Senator Ned Nwoko has addressed a viral video showing a young lady, which many social media users falsely claimed is his “new wife.” These rumours surfaced amid his ongoing marital issues with Regina Daniels.
In a public statement, the Delta North lawmaker dismissed the claims as false, mischievous, and malicious.
He clarified that the woman in the video visited him alongside her team under the Peace Ambassadors Initiative, led by Ambassador Dr. Adejo Sule.
Nwoko explained that photos taken during the visit were part of normal practice whenever he meets guests or attends public events.
He condemned those who twist such innocent interactions into false stories for social media clout and misinformation.
In a statement released, he said:
“It is mischievous and malicious for anyone to exploit such gestures to fabricate false narratives. Let me state clearly that I do not have any form of personal or private connection with her.”
The senator also warned blogs and individuals spreading the rumour to desist immediately, noting that such falsehoods could attract legal consequences under the Cybercrime Act (2015).
Nwoko’s clarification comes amid trending online reactions, with many Nigerians joking that “even taking a selfie with Ned can spark marriage rumours.”
Senator Ned Nwoko has firmly set the record straight, reminding the public that not every viral story reflects reality and emphasizing the dangers of spreading misinformation online.
