Tragedy as newly sworn-in lawyer, Barrister Temi Odu, reportedly strangled to death by her husband, with details emerging online.
According to a series of Instagram posts by Toniabruisebutnotbroken, the tragic incident occurred on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
The posts revealed that Barrister Temi Odu was a newly admitted lawyer who had recently been called to the Nigerian Bar during the Call to Bar ceremony in Abuja and fell victim to extreme violence.
Details Of The Tragedy
According to Toniabruisebutnotbroken’s posts, the lawyer was strangled to death by her husband, Christopher Odu, in the presence of their son.
However, despite the severity of the crime, he was released from the custody of security operatives.
Meanwhile, the family of the deceased has been informed that Mr. Odu plans to bury the body swiftly.
Toniabruisebutnotbroken shared that her husband subjected her to physical abuse for over two decades, which commenced during their courtship.
Prior to her tragic passing, Barrister Odu was the sole breadwinner and had built their home, leaving behind three sons.
The posts expressed deep concern over the security operatives’ actions, suggesting that they reflect a troubling indifference to domestic violence and femicide.
Additionally, the posts demanded the rearrest of Christopher Odu, the deceased lawyer’s husband, and the postponement of her funeral arrangements.
