While police officers are meant to discourage the black market business which is illegal in nature, a clip of them buying from a market guy has gone viral online.
The two police officers were seen on a bike, instructing the black market seller to bring them fuel. Without hesitation, the seller complied and handed it over to them.
The eyewitness then approached the black market seller, who revealed that this was a regular occurrence, explaining that the police officers come daily to collect 2-3 liters of fuel from him without paying.
See reactions and the video below;
ademola.balogun: Selling fuel by the road side is illegal so he is paying for protection.

yapopsy: That’s nyanya Abuja, regular thing on that axis.
the_abuja_lawyer: Well, what does the Law say about this kind of situation? The Law says that “He who comes to equity must come with clean hands”. Selling of petrol by black market vendors is an illegal trade and punishable under the Law. The black market vendor is at risk of being sentenced for the said offense. For the police officers , they have conducted themselves in an unprofessional and illegal manner and they are in danger of being prosecuted for gross misconduct under service which can lead to their dismissal because they have acted in a manner unbecoming of a police officer.
